We help you achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Greater Than helps you address the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Solutions to reduce carbon impact and strengthen ESG reporting

The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) define international focus areas and goals for sustainable development to be pursued by 2030. At Greater Than, we do our utmost to help organizations achieve nine of the goals. By converting GPS data into simple driver scores, we provide powerful driver risk and climate impact insights to guide better business decisions for a safer, cleaner world.

The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. The 17 SDGs are at the core of the Agenda and comprise an urgent call for action from all countries.

The goals, which in total incorporate 169 separate targets, are interdependent and interlinked, with targets in many goals going hand-in-hand with others.

As a company that empowers owners of GPS data with valuable insights into crash risk, CO2 emissions, fuel, and battery consumption, we strive to help with actions that can influence safer and cleaner mobility.

Below are the SDG goals and specific targets our products and services help your organization to achieve:

SDG 3: Good health and well-being

Target 3.6 Halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents

At Greater Than, we advocate increased awareness of safer driving habits. In our daily operations, we support our customers to take ownership of driver safety.

Our AI technology converts GPS data into a Crash Probability Score, which can be utilized to predict and prevent traffic crashes. Our solutions also help organizations to incentivize safer driving habits, strengthening awareness of driving behavior both at the organizational and individual level.

SDG 11: Sustainable cities and communities

Target 11.2 By 2030, provide access to safe, affordable, accessible, and sustainable transport systems for all, improving road safety

We are passionate about promoting, facilitating, and supporting the future growth of sustainable cities and mobility. Our products facilitate innovative transport solutions for a more sustainable future.

By helping our customers to understand driver risk levels and CO2 emissions, price drivers accordingly, and incentivize safer, cleaner behaviors, we are actively contributing to positive developments in mobility.

SDG 12: Sustainable consumption and production

Target 12.2 By 2030, achieve the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources

Our cloud-based, SaaS, digital solutions require no additional in-vehicle hardware. Our cost-effective, agile solutions deliver great value to clients who already own the GPS data that we analyze and deliver back to them digitally with deeper insights into safety and sustainability. By supporting our clients – and their clients – with solutions that promote safer, more sustainable travel, we help them to reduce their environmental impact.

Target 12.6 Encourage companies, especially large and transnational companies, to adopt sustainable practices and to integrate sustainability information into their reporting cycle

Our solutions proactively help organizations and individuals to reduce their carbon footprint and to strengthen their sustainability reporting. Not only that, but our solutions help organizations support their own clients to achieve their sustainability goals.

Specifically, our Climate Impact Score, which measures a driver’s impact on energy and fuel efficiency in real-time, calculates CO2 saved in either grams or in percentage, facilitating accurate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.

SDG 13: Climate action

Target 13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning

Education forms a large part of Greater Than’s solutions. By enabling better understanding of safety and climate impact, and encouraging drivers to take ownership of their behaviors, our products incentivize driving that is kinder to the environment.

The FIA Smart Driving Challenge, in partnership with the FIA, is a great example of this. The global challenge invites drivers to connect their cars to the FIA SDC app to see how safe and eco-friendly their driving is. The app uses gamification features and in-app feedback to encourage drivers to improve their score and climb the app leader board.

Contributions to several more SDGs

As well as our efforts towards helping directly achieve the goals above, we are passionate about ensuring our organization and technology contributes to many more SDGs. Take SDG 4 (Quality Education), for example. Our technology makes it possible for everybody to have an equal chance to understand, learn and develop good driving skills to help increase employment opportunities.

In relation to SDG 5 (Gender equality), we’re proud that our organization, management team, and board consist of equal share, women, and men. Additionally, through encouraging unbiased, fair, transparent pricing of driving risk we are committed to eliminating gender bias – and other bias – from the mobility industry.

Finally, when thinking about SDG 17, Partnership for the Goals, we’re honored to have been chosen by so many incredible partners who use our solutions to help contribute to safer, cleaner roads around the world.
