Prioritizing fleet safety

Waylens has established a reputation for its innovative use of advanced AI in both Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) through its AI-driven video telematics solutions.

Dedicated to ongoing research and improving safety within fleets, the company acknowledged the importance of integrating further AI-driven risk intelligence into its services, with the goal of providing a more thorough approach to managing fleet-related risks.

Developing a globally unique platform

In December 2024, Waylens partnered with Greater Than to explore the integration of AI risk intelligence into crash probability with its existing AI video telematics technology.

Within a matter of weeks, Greater Than developed a new platform combining AI-powered video telematics and predictive crash risk insights.

Key benefits of the platform include:

  • Categorization of video clips in context with crash probability predictions
  • Faster identification of high-risk drivers to facilitate prompt intervention
  • Expanded use of video technology within insurance, from claims management to underwriting

Enabling predictive risk management

The new platform delivers multiple gains for fleet managers. By integrating video telematics with crash probability insights, fleets enhance their understanding of driver- and fleet-related risks.

With the platform, fleet managers can assess crash probability at the individual driver or entire fleet level, while also gaining video insights into factors that contribute to these risks. This enables them to focus their risk reduction strategies on the drivers who require the most attention, utilizing the platform’s information to decide on the appropriate actions and timing for coaching intervention.

Expanding video benefits in commercial fleet insurance

Waylens’ new global safety platform provides advantages for the insurance sector as well. Although video technology and data services have previously been utilized for underwriting and claims services, this platform enables greater precision in the underwriting process.

By predicting the crash probability of fleet customers and identifying where a fleet’s highest and lowest risks lie, the platform provides risk intelligence that can be used throughout the insurance lifecycle to empower usage-based insurance (UBI) programs.
