Evald Karlssons is an excellent sustainability ambassador for the haulage industry. The company has put great effort into operating in a fuel-efficient way through many factors including the improvement of vehicle technology and employee engagement.

The company was already operating in a 15% more fuel efficient way than an average company within its industry. With lean, dedicated management, the company’s starting point was approx. 34L/100km, compared with an average of approx. 40L/100km.

Digging deep into fuel consumption by vehicle

Greater Than’s risk intelligence provides Evald Karlssons with new insights that highlight how much of an influence the driver has on fuel consumption. This graph shows the outcome for one specific truck over time, driven by 17 different drivers. It clearly shows that the driver is a major factor in fuel consumption.

Analyzing fuel consumption by driver

It’s also interesting to see the data when looking at individual drivers. The graph to the right shows the outcome for one individual driver, using 10 different trucks over 1,393 trips. It’s clear to see how the driver’s varying score corresponds with fuel consumption; the higher the score, the lower the fuel consumption.
