The FIA x Greater Than

The FIA Smart Driving Challenge (FIA SDC) was launched by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in 2019, using Greater Than’s risk intelligence to measure driver climate impact and crash probability.

The FIA is the governing body for world motor sport and the federation of the world’s leading mobility organizations.

Greater Than’s technology tested and verified

The FIA first used our technology during an eco-driving competition in Istanbul, in which they wanted to harmonize data from different vehicle types and manufacturers.

Over the following six years, the FIA explored how technology could be used to make a positive difference for everyday drivers and – after holding up against extensive testing and validation – our risk intelligence was deemed ideal for the job.

FIA Smart Driving Challenge = a world first

The FIA SDC is the world’s only challenge that unites all road users and encourages smart, safe, eco-friendly driving.

The FIA SDC app encourages everyday drivers to adopt skills that are better for safety and sustainability. This has the potential to make a tremendous impact on the future of the planet.

Drivers using the FIA SDC app achieve an average CO2 emission saving of 13% versus the global average.

World-leading risk intelligence that drives positive change

Greater Than’s risk intelligence enables the FIA SDC to measure the driver influence on road safety and sustainability, independent of location, vehicle type, and fuel type.

The app provides feedback to drivers to help them adopt behaviors that improve road safety and reduce climate impact every time they drive.
